Program Description

Event Details

This is a poetry workshop at Royal Oak Public Library, where we meet monthly to workshop poems we are working on. A workshop is a welcoming, focused environment, in which we can patiently and with care discuss the work of another poet. The purpose of the workshop is not only to improve our writing but also hone our voice and the figurative language needed to express our voice. We will focus on issues of craft, like voice, metaphor, structure, rhythm, and tone, and over time hopefully form a community of poets who support and engage each other's work. Each poet will bring 8 copies of their poem to workshop. Come with an open mind, and leave with an open mind.
