Program Description

Event Details

Join author, illustrator, and graphic novelist Mark Crilley as he shares memories of his first days as a published author, back when he was living right here in Royal Oak!

Mark will stand at an easel while he speaks, creating a special full-color illustration that will remain at ROPL as a gift to the library.

Mark will give tips on writing, illustrating, and getting published, offer lively readings from his books, and answer questions from those in attendance.

While Mark Crilley has spoken at more than 650 different venues since 2001, only one of them— ROPL— holds the distinction of having been the very first!

You won’t want to miss this special occasion when Mark returns to speak at his old hometown library for the first time in 24 years!

Please register all adults and all children attending.
