Program Description

Event Details

Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit? Do the clicks and clacks of knitting needles sing sweetly to you? Are you continually mystified by the knits and purls in your favorite sweaters? Unravel these mysteries and start your journey toward a rewarding hobby!

Learn the bare basics of knitting at your public library, and come out of the session with (at least the beginnings of) a Heart Faced Scrubby!  This guy is a multi-purpose square piece of knitting that can be used as a face cleansing pad, a pot holder, or a cleaning cloth.

You will learn:

  • The Knitted Cast On
  • How to Knit and Purl (and how to recognize which is which!)
  • Pattern reading
  • How to Cast Off
    • What all these terms mean!
