What did the Michigan Jewish Community know about the Shoah and when, and how did it respond? Join us at the library to have a talk with Catherine Cangany, PhD. As she will explain what happened in the Michigan Jewish Community during the World War II and the time of the Holocaust. Cangany is executive director of Jewish Historical Society of Michigan (JHSM). A scholar of Detroit, she received her PhD in history from the University of Michigan. She is the author of Frontier Seaport: Detroit’s Transformation into an Atlantic Entrepôt.” Prior to joining JHSM in 2018, she was a tenured associate professor of history at the University of Notre Dame.
