Greg - a docent from the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant will discuss the significance of the Museum as a National Historic Landmark, and the scope of their tours. He will provide context regarding the volunteers who saved the building from demolition.
The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is recognized as one of the most significant automotive heritage sites in the world. It is the site of the birth of the Model T. Built in 1904, it was the second center of automobile production for the Ford Motor Company, after the Ford Mack Avenue Plant. Ford Piquette Avenue Plant is part of the National Historic Landmark. the National Park Service has been entrusted with the care of our national parks. With the help of volunteers and partners. They safeguard these special places and share their stories.
